THE INTERNATIONAL CHESS FEDERATION
Uzbekistan Chess Federation
The Uzbekistan Chess Federation is a non-governmental, non-profit organization founded in March 1996 that unites chess players across the country.
Leadership: In October 2024, the Prime Minister of Uzbekistan, Abdulla Aripov, was elected Chairman of the Federation. The former head, Alisher Sadullaev, became his First Deputy Chairman.
International Status: The Federation is a member of the International Chess Federation (FIDE) and the Asian Chess Federation.
Major Achievements: One of its most significant successes was the victory of the Uzbekistan men’s national team at the 44th World Chess Olympiad in 2022, a historic achievement for the country.
Notable Players: The Federation is home to several prominent players, including Rustam Kasimdzhanov, the 2004 FIDE World Champion, and rising young Grandmasters such as Nodirbek Abdusattorov and Javokhir Sindarov, who are consistently ranked among the world’s elite.
Tournament Organization: The Federation has been instrumental in organizing major international chess events. In 2023, it hosted the World Rapid and Blitz Championships in Samarkand, and it is preparing to host the 46th World Chess Olympiad in 2026 in the same city.
The Youth Affairs Agency of the Republic of Uzbekistan
Establishment: The agency was established by Presidential Decree
№ PD-6017 on June 30, 2020.
Purpose: Its primary objective is to elevate state youth policy to a new level, find effective solutions to youth-related issues, and provide comprehensive support to young people. It is responsible for implementing socio-economic, organizational, and legal measures to foster the intellectual and creative potential of the youth.
Leadership: As of July 2025, the director of the agency is Alisher Zafarovich Sadullayev.
Structure: The agency’s system includes a central office, regional branches, the Institute for the Study of Youth Problems and the Training of Perspective Personnel, and Youth Media Holding OJSC.
Key Initiatives and Functions:
◦ “Youth Notebook”: The agency created this electronic platform to identify, address, and monitor the problems of unemployed youth and those in need of social, economic, legal, or psychological support.
◦ Support for Young Entrepreneurs: The agency has allocated significant funds (over $200 million) to support entrepreneurial activities among young people.
◦ Education: It provides support for young people to study at top universities abroad, with a minimum of $2 million allocated for this purpose.
◦ International Cooperation: The agency is a permanent member of the Council for Youth Affairs of the CIS Member States and collaborates with international organizations like UNODC.
Ministry of Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan
The Ministry of Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan is a state body responsible for implementing state policy in the field of physical culture and sports.

Establishment: The Ministry of Sports was created on January 20, 2024, on the basis of the former Ministry of Youth Policy and Sports. The Youth Affairs Agency was transferred to the subordination of the Cabinet of Ministers at the same time.
Leadership: The Minister of Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan is Adkham Ilkhamovich Ikramov.
Main Objectives:
Implementing a unified state policy to promote physical education and a healthy lifestyle.
Preparing promising athletes for successful participation in international competitions, including the Olympic and Paralympic Games, Asian and Parasian Games, and world championships.
Developing the activities of sports federations and associations, as well as the National Olympic and Paralympic Committees of Uzbekistan.
Educational Institutions: The ministry oversees the Uzbek State University of Physical Culture and Sports and its branches, as well as the branch of the Russian State University of Physical Culture, Sports, Youth, and Tourism in Samarkand.

AGMK - THE ALMALYK MINING AND METALLURGICAL COMPLEX
JSC “Almalyk MMC” is one of the largest industrial enterprises of Uzbekistan, which has made a worthy contribution to the development of economic potential of the country and its production capacity is based on copper-molybdenum, lead-zinc, gold and silver mining situated in Tashkent, Jizzakh, Namangan and Surkhandarya regions.
Today, Almalyk MMC JSC is a complex industrial complex, including the Kalmakyr, Angren, Chadak, Khandizinskoye ore departments, as well as the Uch-kulach, Kauldy mine, five processing complexes, Zinc plant, Copper smelting plant, Central mechanical repair plant, automobile and technological transport, industrial railway transport department.
The plant also includes Limestone plant, which supplies lime raw materials for our enterprises, Explosives plant, Heat and power plant, Industrial water supply shop, Electrical networks department, Capital construction department, “Olmalikmetallurgkurilish” trust, the department of specialized repair works, etc.The gold and silver producing in the combine have a quality label of the London gemstone stock exchange, that is “Good Supplier”. In the copper production process has been introduced quality management system and received an International Compliance Certificate. This certificate of conformity is also given to the Combine’s cement production process in Jizzakh.
The team of experts, including metallurgists, miners, and leading scientists in the field of precious metal mining, developed a program for the long-term modernization of the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgy Complex. The program envisages introduction of advanced foreign experience in the production and processing of precious metals.
The Complex is committed to the principles of transparency and accountability in the management of natural resources and formally reaffirms its support for the implementation of the principles and standards of the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI).
UZBEKISTAN AIRWAYS
Worthy history and confident look to the future.
There are many events in the chronicle of Uzbekistan, which have defined current day and future of the country. Establishing the National air company “Uzbekistan Airways” 33 years ago marked a new era in the process of the civil aviation formation. During this period the brand «Uzbekistan airways» has become known and recognized all over the world as brand of stabile, safe and reliable carrier.
On January 28, 2025, Uzbekistan Airways celebrated its 33rd anniversary since the airline’s establishment. This holiday is truly valuable for staff of the National air company. In retrospect looking over the course made it may receive evidence that each subsequent year was not less fruitful than previous one. Increasing economic potential and public image of the civil aviation of Uzbekistan is the obvious proof of this fact.
Air company has many things for pride. Modern comfortable aircraft of Uzbekistan regularly land and take off in more than 50 cities of Europe and Asia, operate charter flights in range from Alaska to New Zealand. Pilots of Uzbekistan have mastered aircraft А320, Boeing-767, and today exploit new generation aircraft “Dreamliner”. Their skill and potential are well known in the world and highly ranked by international organizations.
The National air company of Uzbekistan has been recognized as the best operator of aircraft Boeing 787 Dreamliner in the world. According to the results of 2017-year “Uzbekistan Airways” has shown the best figure on accident-free exploitation of aircraft Boeing 787 Dreamliner among operators of Boeing 787 Dreamliner in the world, providing 100 % of safety and regularity of flights on this type of aircraft. The Boeing Company has awarded the NAC for successful and safe exploitation of aircraft of this type.
Today the “Dreamliners” perform the flights to Dubai, Delhi, Istanbul, Tel-Aviv, Seoul, Frankfurt am Main, Moscow, Kuala-Lumpur, New-York. On July 27, 2017 on the first time in the history the National air company “Uzbekistan Airways” carried out the first direct flight on the route “Tashkent – New-York – Tashkent” on aircraft “Dreamliner”.
Many large projects were realized in the industry during passed years. Ground infrastructure of airports was modernized, fleet was completely renewed, new types of aircraft were mastered. New routes were opened, new terminals with high capacity were built, advanced technologies were implemented.
Plans of the national air carrier, large on scale of CIS countries, show dynamic of development and progress of civil aviation of Uzbekistan.
A project is underway to build Air company has created own base on preparing, training and refresher training of its personnel. Training Center has professional teaching staff and Simulator Center with various types of simulator, including full-flight simulator of aircrafts А320 and Boeing 767. It allows to offer services on preparing and training to foreign air companies.
Providing the safety of flight and passenger is the most priority area in its activity. Personnel will always be faithful to air company’s slogan – «Safety, stability, comfort».
